..this weekend has a hefty list of things to achieve.. painting table tops (w/ chalkboard paint//BOOM!), embroidery, crafts, crocheting, and of course tending to the garden. ..along with more CivilWar study.. and design/tailoring study. sooo excited about THAT. ..and about the thunder storm that is currently sounding beautiful against my loft window.

today.

today is feeling a bit 'slumpy', to be quite honest. ...Monday and Tuesday were AMAZING. I got so much done and felt SO great. today, not so much. I have gotten things done... but I don't have that super excited feeling. yet. :) ...I am getting it together. I am focusing. I am okay. :)

I want to share this quote that I got from a friend a while ago. sadly, I did not write down who the quote was originally from... but it is amazing, nonetheless:

I wrote it on a little scrap of paper... on the bottom I have another quote from a comment someone left me a while ago: "turn today into the best day ever". the person said it to me casually, but he will never know how much that small statement has encouraged me and speaks to me over and over again.

happy Monday!

the weekend was lovely. got a lot of sewing done and it was really refreshing to do some non-work sewing. :) I tended to the garden a bit, too... it needs it. everything is looking a little pouty. just gotta' keep at it... I have to remember, I AM still learning. :) looks like something is eating my green beans leaves... and the tomatoes... need to figure a solution to spray on them!

today has been oooh so good! love when the start of the week already has that feeling of achievement and accomplishment. I am inspired, for sure! I have a HUGE list of things I want to tackle this week (both personal and work-related) so that inspiration will certainly come in handy. :)

this week I am going to write down the things I enjoy about each day. it encourages thankfulness when I focus on appreciation for even the little things. ...what're you thankful for?! :)

aaaaand! I have a friend who is going to teach me to make granny squares. I am SOO excited. they will be a great fun to do while traveling!! :) :)

this weekend is going to be a good one. I have a list of to do's: garden, kitchen, baking, SCRAPPING, sewing, etc... I am on a mission and determined to scratch off each of them from my list!!

I want to finish embroidering the pocket for my apron-like-skirt that I am making. ...that I have no photos of. ha. I will, once it's finished.

and I still want to learn to knit and make granny squares.

and someday, I would really like to own a hammock!

weekend+photos=love!!

our weekend trip was wonderful. everything about the Dutch Village (dutchvillage.com) was super fun and adorable. :) they were so very kind to allow us to come in and shoot some footage + segments with Elmer, as well as record an entire series of segments with one of our KICKS Illustrators for one of our new TV shows, KICKS Creative Kids.











Sunday with RezKids was just as wonderful! we did some great interviews with kids who are on their ministry team, and had some amazing fellowship with some of the folks there. so amazing to share inspiration and vision!! I'm so soooo very excited about all that is happening right NOW!!

totally going with the flow right now and taking it all a day at a time. this week is going to be busy as a bee, but I am prepared and inspired!! :)

road trip!

one of my favorite things EVER is a road trip. I LOVE to just ride, looking out the window observing what I am passing, [usually] listening to music, and thinking on how great life is. it's a great time of reflection for me, that's for sure.

this weekend, we are takin' a road trip. we're only going one state north (Michigan), but it will still be a great time. the reason for this trip? we're doing some shooting for KICKS allllll weekend long. ...I think this Summer will include many-a-roadtrip and I am oh so excited about it!! :)

on this trip, I am taking stationary to write some letters AND embroidery goodies. I really wish I knew how to knit tho, as I would really love to make some granny squares. ...maybe next time. :)

summertime!

oh, how I love Summer. I love every season, of course, but I always try to make the most of each season as it is upon me. yesterday was lovely. outside working during the long, hot day, which was overall productive and that felt great. not long after going in for the night, just as it became dark, it began to thunderstorm. another Summer favorite. it was perfect. :) we watched a movie and I baked some blueberry topsy turvy (super yum!)... then folded some laundry and organized my clothes/bedroom a bit. refreshing. :)

today has been another beautiful day. lots of productiveness as far as the ministry is concerned... and I spent some time outside to check the garden then took a small walk. it's soo hot... but it's soo nice to be out in the heat for a bit. ...I feel very settled and happy about things right now, and I love that.

right this moment I am listening to Spotlight by MuteMath... such an AMAZING song. so creative, yet SO honest and beautiful. I really do love it and am inspired to just LIVE. :) if you have not heard the song/seen the video, myspace/youtube/ilike... something... look it up.
